We normally go to this restaurant because this is the only korean restaurant near we live. Food is not bad however portion is very small. Service is very poor every time we go there we can’t eat peacefully because they are always in a rush. Even though the closing time is 11pm, from 9:30pm they rush you and make you feel so uncomfortable to eat by coming to your table several times and just staring at your plate so you can finish and when they can take the plates away. They also take the plates away without even asking. We always spend over 50-60 for two people but its not worth it for the customer service and the food. I will never go to that restaurant again and will not recommed any of my friends to that restaurant. The customer service is very bad.
This is my first time visiting Sarang and I came here not only because of its location (just opposite to the tube station) but also due to its broad menu as it serves korean-chinese food such as Jjajangmyun () and Tangsuyuk () etc., which is hard to find in other korean restaurants here in the UK. Therefore I gave it a go, despite the fact that it’s a bit pricey. I ordered Jangban Jjambong () and Tangsuyuk (). The portion size is fairly generous I would say, but the Jangban Jjambong is very oily and obviously loaded with tons of chili oil (the dish is not spicy enough though, only has a mild flavour). This is the only negative part of this entire meal luckily, as the Tangsuyuk is well-cooked and the deep fry batter is surprisingly thin. Moreover, there are lots of seafood like squid and prawns in the Jangban Jjambong which is great. Also, the lady (assuming she’s the boss) is very friendly and welcoming. The food came fast and hot as well. I will definitely come back again for more unique korean cuisines but I wouldn’t order the Jangban Jjambong again.
Great place! You get a lot for what you pay for. Only thing that’s negative is that their English is not very good but that didn’t really matter, they made up for that with their friendly and attentive approach.
