I’ve eaten here several times because the fro yo is good and a lot of my friends are kosher. However, after my experience at brunch today, I won’t be in a hurry to return.3/4 of our party ordered either the SOYO breakfast or the vegan option, whilst I ordered eggs benedict. The vegan breakfast and one complete SOYO breakfast was brought out in a reasonable time, but the second soyo breakfast was missing the eggs. It took over 20 minutes for us to receive the eggs belonging to the SOYO breakfast, and for the eggs benedict to arrive. By the time we all received our food, the first two people were basically finished eating. That was the first thing. The second problem was with the bill. We decided to keep the service charge because they did give us a free froyo to apologise for the delay with the food, so our bill with service included was 46.17. One person paid 34 on a card, leaving 12.13 to be paid in cash. 20 was paid. We initially received change of 5.87, which the waitress checked for us and brought back the little change plate with cash on it. However, when I counted it, there was only 7.77 there, meaning we were still 10p short. Whilst I recognise that these are very small amounts of money, the fact is that it added to the overall aura of incompetence that was exuded from the staff during our whole visit. Bringing a party’s food out together and giving the correct change (at least the second time!) is utterly basic stuff for the restaurant industry and it blew my mind that they were incapable even of that. The food itself was fine, nothing to write home about if you’re not kosher, but if you are vegan and have kosher friends/family then the vegan breakfast appeared to be a good option. I don’t keep kosher, and there are far better brunches to be had in general.
