The interiors of this place is the biggest win point for them. Situated on the start of Cowley Road, this place serves food as well as drinks. Personally, I loved the food but some people can find it pricey. Pair it with a nice wine and live music and this place will win over you.
Kazbar – Oxford, England. Kazbar finds itself just in the middle of a residential area of Oxford and a short walk from some of Oxford’s many parks and universities. It is one of the more unique places to eat at, but maybe more for a social quick catch-up than an actual meal. While inside, you could easily be in another place. One cannot deny that there is atmosphere here. The interior is actually layed out like a Morrocan house with the shape of the doorways and the look of the pillars, it is something to actually see instead of hear about. Service here depends on what you get, there can be really friendly people (one guy who from memory did not serve the table I was at actually interacted upon exiting – pretty darn good for being a first-time diner). here and generally people who are simply doing their job. The mix is ecclectic. By saying it is not ideal for an actual meal, Kazbar is essentially a tapas bar somewhere to go for a snack or pre-dinner nibbles before heading elsewhere. Amongst the tapas I tried, they included;hommous – which is essentially hommous, not bad but what can be said about it that is not already known?pulpoa la gallega – sliced octopus legs, this was less chewy than octopus usually is and the olive oil adds to it. cous cous – same as the hommous.patatasa lo pobre – potatoes cooked with peppers and white wine. The potatoes were well cooked and covered in a delicious sauce. carne picada – spiced mince lamb combined with hommous, pinenuts and herb oil topped with a chili. This has to be tried; I could not get enough.costillasibericas – oven roasted pork ribs. These were meh! While food was decent, the real star is the atmospheric ambiance. This is an example of a place where the draw is – in part – being different to the other surrounding options. If there is another group gathering I might consider a return; this especially goes if there is anyone who has not been here before.
Delicious. Great atmosphere, good cocktails, amazing food. Highly recommended!
Great little spot to chill out. Very affordable tasty tapas (early special at 2 each) and drinks. especially nice to chill out there on a sunday afternoon when it’s quieter.
Really tasty! Great atmosphere and wide range on menu!
