I’ve been a regular at Sofra for over 2 years and we normally eat out here once or twice a month. The food has been very good and staff friendly, which led us to recommending this place to friends and colleagues. Unfortunately, over the years there has been a steady and very visible decline in the levels of service and general comfort here. They used to previously offer complimentary breads and dips, which was cut for cost reasons. Understandable. This was replaced by a tortilla like wrap covered with some spices and herbs – apparently this as been stopped too! The prices were raised a few months ago but I was very disappointed to see that the serving sizes went in quite the opposite direction! On a Sunday night, we were the only table being served and yet had to wait 10 minutes for the bill, and another 10 minutes for the card machine to be presented. When I raised these concerns, I was told:1 – The complimentary spicy tortilla was only served on weekends. So apparently, Sunday isn’t the weekend anymore.2 – The serving size wasn’t what it used to be but prices were higher (I’ve always ordered a Chicken Beyti – started when it was around 9 pounds – it’s now 12.50! The person waiting our table said the chef decided the size. The person who presented the card machine said he personally made it and when I confronted him as to why the chicken pieces we much smaller than before, he conveniently shifted blame back to the head chef!3 – Delays presenting the bill and the card machine. I told the guy I was not happy given as we were the only table occupied, to which his response was that he likes to give guests time and we should have told him we were in a hurry (this was despite me putting my card on the table right away)!Unfortunately, some of the really good staff have left the restaurant and there appears to be no interest from the owner to make improvements, even though he’s merrily raised the prices.Shame – this used to be a nice place but we will no longer be going here, or recommending this to anyone.I’ve attached a photo of the same dish as attached in Jenny Sturgess’s photo. Notice the dealbreaker?

Had been meaning to eat at this restaurant for a very long time. We finally went along on the 30th June. We ordered from the set menu which offers a main course and baklawa desert for 7.95 from 12-4 Monday to Sunday. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The food was delicious and the baklawa was moist and buttery. All four of us were impressed. We were the only ones eating there which seems such a shame.
