Great venue for a ‘project’ but a gastropub menu? Why so basic? Menu also contained 4 different beef dishes? Unfortunately something was forgotten every course, despite us being literally the only people in there. (Early lunch on a Friday) I have never had mash potato that consistency or taste, not in a good way. Just not very good.

I absolutely loved the location of this restaurant. Although very hidden, it has a really unique setting. The interior is even more impressive than the location. Its so cosy and warm, perfect for dark winter times. The menu incorporates a selection of European dishes priced at either 7 or 11 including a daily deli-counter and sit down restaurant for 60 covers.Firstly, hats off to their Margaritas, spot on cocktails! We ordered the salmon tartare and battered courgette, both were delicious. The salmon tasted very fresh and reminded me of Scandinavian food back home. For the mains we both chose the butchers steak. For the sides we added green herb salad, mac&cheese and triple cooked fries. Here is where I was a little disappointed though. Although the taste and seasonings were good, the steak and salad were chewy and the mac&cheese was slightly dry.Nonetheless we still enjoyed it and had room for desserts, sticky toffee pudding and salty caramel tart. The tart was most definitely the winners amongst the two desserts. The restaurant is affordable and is a perfect place to grab a quick after-work bite with its fast service and great drinks. catch52.me

Really lovely food with obviously excellent provenance. I had crispy pork belly which was saved from being too rich and indulgent by an earthy white bean stew. The kale was also very well sourced and clearly fresh but lacked seasoning. The service and chips were fine and the wine list was small but overall, this is a really lovely restaurant. Come for a cheap, candlelight date night or to try their excellent meats.
