Came here the other night for dinner, we were seated quite quickly, service was prompt and staff were polite and accomodating. I ordered the Adana kebab and it was beautifully cooked and taested delicious.
I had a Turkish colleague visiting for work and asked us if we wanted really good Turkish food. We ended up at this place, this is the best Turkish food I have ever had. On top of it, it is cheap. The owner was very friendly and waived the cost of desserts for us. I would recommend spinach and cheese kofte, falafel and pide. They also have yeni raki which is also known as lion’s milk It tastes like fennel, is clean but turns cloudy when you add water and has a lot of alcohol. To finish off, Have a baklava followed by Turkish coffee. Can’t wait to go back again.
Very good kebap shop in north London.. Kebaps are very delicious and well-cooked..Especially lahmacun (a kind of Turkish pizza, made from mince, spicies and onion) must be tried… Ayran (mix of water and yogurt) is very original drink.. You should taste!! Staff is good and service fast..
It’s 1 hour away from where I live, but still worth it. A no-frills laidback Turkish restaurant in the Northern suburb of Harringay, or Little Istanbul. If you are going to have 1 Lahmacun in your life, it better be here. I have tried it in Turkey, Syria and Lebanon, and none come as close to Antepliler. The garlic version with the very pink lamb meat is my favourite. We ordered a mixed meze which was alright but nothing outstanding. Next came the Sogan Kabab; large kofta chunks drenched in a tangy pomegranate concentrate, magically magnifying the fatty elements of the meat. The caramelised baby onions make the perfect side. The nice waitress agreed to bring us 1 plate of doner kabab from their sister Doner restaurant. Was fine though surprised it was beef and not lamb. Finally came the kabab mix; a rich plate of barbequed chicken wings, sheesh taouk, lamb cubes, kabab and lamb chops. I’ve always preferred Turkish and Persian kababs over Arabic ones; they’re bigger, juicier and more flavorful with the chili and spice-infused marinations. The wings were one of the best I have ever had; juicy meat with crispy skin leaving just the right barbequey aftertaste. The sheesh taouk was ok along with the lamb cubes and chops. The kababs were full-bodied and though saltier than usual, were amazingly delicious. Finished off with a nice glass of Turkish tea and a Kunefe which was OK. If you’re willing to go the extra 5.3 miles from central London, and enjoy a laidback yet loud Anatolian atmosphere, and have a love for pink glorious lamb, then this is your place. It can be quite difficult choosing a restaurant on Green Lane, there are so many offering Turkish cuisine. Antepliler is a safe bet. With a relaxed ambience and excellently grilled meats, it will satisfy your craving for a kebab. The adana kebab is quite spicy, the chicken tender and the pides are well stuffed. The kunafa however, is too sweet and flat. Service was great.
