Well, it’s a Wetherspoons. So you get standard fare – fish and chips for us the time we went – plus a drink for a very good price. The food was well cooked and served fairly quickly but no feel of a ping of the microwave. One thing I will say about the Toll Gate – I find they always, always have loads of ales on tap, many that you’ve never heard of – more so than the Spouter’s Corner in Wood Green. Always at great value too. The pub itself doesn’t look too impressive from the outside but give it a go. Comfortable inside and great value, diverse choice of beer.
