I like Comedor for four reasons. It’s opposite from the Islington Assembly Hall so ideal for a pre-gig food fest. It has burgers. It has foie gras. It’s great value for money. Its next to a karoeke bar. Wait, thats four things. I think you get the general vibe that I dig it. Funnily enough on my recent visit, all of those four things factored. My guest had a burger. I had steak with foie gras on top. We went to see Jake Isaac’s gig and finished off the night with a poorly advised kareoke session. On a school night, not good. But yeah actually it was fun and I would do it all again. cookandpour.co.uk

This might have just become my favourite place for a great steak in London. Dropped in for dinner last night with my wife and were treated to a seriously delicious meal accompanied by first class service from a team who took their time to explain even the smallest details. Things we had:1 x comedor negroni – possibly the most potent drink I’ve ever tasted. Perhaps, the only thing which I didn’t enjoy.1 x mojito – lovely, refreshing and well executedWine – Catena alba malbec. Perfect! Starters, beef carpaccio and ceviche. The carpaccio was so good. It’s as though the beef just melted in your mouth and the ceviche was full of great flavours.Mains, I was really hungry and opted for the churrasco cooked medium rare, while my wife had the pichana cooked the same way. Accompanied with salad, sweet potato fries and some delicious mushrooms. Every mouthful was layered with excellence. Dessert – we shared the churros, which were probably the best ones I’ve ever eaten and washed down with a couple of espressos. This was a great meal fully deserving a 5* rating.
