Best Pizza t away in London, we always order from Firezza that is a still family runned small company, the phone service is amusingly kind and efficient as is the delivery and the food.

Very disappointing.. Had been looking forward to trying Firezza, having lived in Italy for a long time I was excited at the idea of a proper pizza place in the neighbourhood. Delivery took forever, much longer than the 45 minutes we were told. When the food did arrive it was terrible. The pizza dough, cheese and toppings had a very strange chewy consistency, everything was overly salted. The fried mozzarella starter literally looked like slimy dead slugs upon arrival. They did offer us a free pizza because of the tardiness, perhaps I’ll use that as an opportunity to give them one more try in case it was just an off night. But thus far I am extremely disappointed.

THE No: 1 PIZZA IN UK. Firezza !

Herne Hill Horror. Terrible customer service on the telephone and complete silence from Head Office after writing to complain. Despite the fact that Firezza had delivered just a matter of weeks before, I called one evening to find that my postcode was not ‘in the system’. I asked more about this system but to no avail. The manager was incredibly rude. It seemed that as a non-customer on this occasion, he could speak to me anyway he chose. It’s a pity because the FIrezza menu is good and the quality generally high. But gourmet competitors are multiplying and customer service will be the differentiator – why spend money (or attempt to spend money) with a business that can’t even extend common courtesy?Epic fail.

So am I sucker or what?. This is a pizza from Firezza in Islington.http://www.flickr.com/photos/royaltech/5474074357/The normal Firezza has Prosciutto Cotto ham, spicy pepperoni, roasted aubergines, courgette, sweet peppers, tomato sauce and mozzarella.I decided to switch the courgette and sweet peppers for olives and mushoom. And substitute the ham for anchovies.Since the website allows you to make the changes, then I figure that’s what you can have made.I figured wrong. When I went to pick it up, I was advised of this, so I thought, no problem, I’ll just have the normal vegetable mix on the pizza. But – there’s the first issue, get your ordering functionality on your website sorted out. It’s not hard.As you can see here, I got a pepperoni (certainly wasn’t spicy), mushroom, olive and anchovy (I think there was 5 on there if I was lucky) pizza with so much tomato sauce, that you see how wet the pizza is from when I cut it in half and liquid just oozed off the top.Pretty rank. So, this is why one shouldn’t order a pizza from Firezza. Because they don’t know how to make them. It looked more like a cyclist after eating the road coming down Highgate Hill. Yeah, that’s appetising. In 15 months of living in the hood, I’ve had 4 pizzas from them. Two were good, one of which was on the night I moved into my place, and the other a few months later. The one we had in June was far from great, but with the missus out of town I thought I’d give it one last chance. This one was so bad, I only ate half and threw the rest out.10 Jun, 2010Sliding the wrong way?. Used to like, but not so now.Last time around they double charged me and then they gave me most miserable pizzas with hardly any topping.I know that the topping for these pizzas is thinner than your rubbish Domino’s style, but this was absurd.
