Pretty overpriced, hence why we only had one pint here. To be honest I expected a wider range of beers for what appears to be such a trendy pub. Nice pub setting and has outdoor seating. They have a limited menu on match days.
OK, so the Highbury Barn Tavern is a gay friendly pub with an obviously gay manager who for some unknown reason cannot help himself making homophobic jokes, which are far from funny. Claiming to have a wife somewhere in Russia who no one has ever seen, the implication is that he is straight, where in my opinion that is a far stretch of his imagination, but that’s his issue and should be made the problem of his customers.This is a pity, as a gay bar it is a good pick up joint and a little ruined by the behaviour of the manager. The food is alright, if not overpriced and the staff take the lead of the manager’s attitude. It’s not a place I’ll be visiting again in a hurry.
