Absolutely stunning restaurant with wide range of food and enormous portions. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable. Have been at least 10 times and every time brilliant .meen pollichathu and the stuffed sea bass is something to look forward for.

We always used to visit the place to have good South Indian food along with Tilapia fish. Their way of cooking fish is very good, even cheaper variants of fish are tasty in their curry.

Tucked away at the corner of Granby Street next to Sainsbury and bang opposite to Premier Inn, Kayal has apparently existed since 2005. It’s a small restaurant with a big heart. Wooden interiors and carvings give it an aesthetic decor. The service is exemplary and the stewards are friendly. The food is mild when compared to their variants we eat in India or in the Middle East, obviously tempered down for the European palette, but it’s just the degree of heat that’s lower. Otherwise the taste is authentic. The parathas and appams are fabulous. I recommend their Mussels Molee and Cheera Erachi (boneless lamb curry). Cost for a couple 40.

Went to this restaurant with family on a Saturday for lunch. We had searched a lot for a good authentic kerala restaurant around Milton Keynes and found none. Hence, while searching on the net came across Kayal in Leicester. The service was very good however the menu didn’t meet our expectation. We ordered for a Vegetarian Sadhya feast. It said Sadhya but some of the key Sadhya dishes like pulicheri, rasam were missing. However, the food tasted good. And it was indeed a feast to the stomach with generous quantity. The choice of dishes in a Sadhya could have been better.

Worth waiting for. A few times I have tried to book a table at KAYAL, but it was always fully booked. Me and my friends decided to take a chance and turn up without a reservation. We arrived just after 8 pm, and we were asked to wait for 15 mins, but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were very attentive, the food beautifully cooked and perfectly spiced. I strongly recommend trying it!

Amazing food. Authentic and excellent value. Compared to other restaurants I always feel under-charged!

This is one of the best places to eat in Leicester. The food is spectacular and original. The king fish curry might be the tastiest things ever created. Go! Try it! The service is friendly and while it can seem a little slow it’s worth it. Everything tastes fresh and is certainly worth a little wait. They do take away, sadly they don’t deliver, as of they did I don’t think I’d ever eat anything else ever again.
