Summer evenings in the beer garden are just lovely. The sun shines as you tuck into a delicious roast, some crunchy fish & chips or a great burger. The range of ales, lagers and gins is excellent. The service is pretty ordinary and couldnt be called quick or efficient. But on a summers afternoon its hard to beat.

A group of us went there after a brilliant walk in Waterlow park. Woodman is so charming from outside, even the beer garden is very inviting. We ordered few pints of beer and decided to order a Sunday roast each. The service is very, very slow. Waiters are very disinterested and took a lot of time to get our food. The decor is very nice with some tasteful paintings inside, although we decided to sit outside as the sun was shining. The food is good, we all liked it, but it had gone cold by the time it arrived. It could be because it was for 6 of us? It’s definitely value for money (only 10 pounds for Sunday roast) given the area that it is. (I have been to some really expensive pubs in Hampstead with similar service and food)
