Ohh what a pleasure to finally write about my culinary exploits during my Leeds jaunt. This is not your every day dine out place when you’re in Leeds, especially as a student at the uni. I’ve been to Loch Fyne once, around Christmas time, after a particularly lucky night at the casino. Which is how I came to afford it, in the first place.I love where it is. Smack dab in the middle of city square and the whole area looks amazing during Christmas month. The place is quite huge and we were on the lower level, the night we dined at Loch Fyne.Service was OK, considering it was mid-week and not too crowded. Could have been a notch or two above considering how it is priced. Food is above average. The sirloin steak was a winner and quite sumptuous too. Considering that Leeds has some amazing chippies, the Fish n Chips were not that great. I didn’t quite like the mushy peas and if I didn’t know better, I’d say they weren’t super fresh. The mushroom gnocchi was good although I’m used to saucier gnocchis but still no reason to complain.Beers and Ciders cost slightly above pub rates, so unless you’re out to act all posh and impress your date, I suggest pre-drinks would be a better idea someplace cheaper.

My husband and I had a reservation here, when we arrived we asked to be seated outside and were told our waiter would bring the menus, 10 minutes later and nothing. We went and asked to then be seated inside and had to eventually request menus as we had still not received any. If it had not been for the friendly waitress this would have been a terrible evening. It also appeared that management was non – existent.
