Lovely food but abysmal service. Went here for the second time last night as on our first visit we enjoyed the food so much we thought the poor service might be just a one off. We were very wrong! Let me enlighten you to some of the bad service we received and bear in mind the restaurant only had 2 other couples dining as well as our group of 6. 1) Did not receive a menu on entering the downstairs area had to ask. 2) Staff upstairs watched our groups drinks go dry, we were never asked once the entire night if anyone would like another drink. 3) One of the group had to walk back downstairs to the bar to order some more drinks and after 15 minutes when they still hadn’t arrived at our table back down the stairs again. She was met by a man at the bar who seemed almost insulted that she would come back and ask where the drinks were. It’s also worth bearing in mind that the bar area was completely empty at this time. 4) Staff came and cleared our starters while two people were still eating. 5) We were brought out nice hot plates and imagined our mains would shortly follow. Around 10 to 15 minutes later when the plates had gone cold the food arrived. And finally……. 6) They got our order wrong and had left off 2 portions of rice leaving my poor Mum, who hadn’t had anything to eat at that point, sat watching her curry go cold. I’m not blaming the waitors and waitresses as they all seemed nice and friendly but I think it’s a total lack of training and because the staff are all so young training is needed as they won’t have loads of experience with how service should work in a restaurant. Well that’s it for us and Indya now gave them a second chance. Try at your own peril!
First off never good if a waiter calls you mate… They didn’t seem to grasp the concept of a tailor made curry, yet they give options to spice up your food. Was dubious about trying indya, after seeing the poor state of the building of their sister company laxmi! Although I have to admit, I enjoyed the food. But… Staff were terrible, so bad in fact that I will not be going back, the food just can’t make up for ignorance. Give me the flouch or Bengal spice anyday!

Highly Recommended. Indya is one of our favourite Indian Restaurants. A classy restaurant that serves high quality Indian food. The menu has a nice variety of dishes to choose from and there are usually early bird deals that offer great value.
