(This is actually a review from 8/5/13, but I accidentally erased it, had to repost)George served me my first ever British fish & chips (actually fish & rice: in a vain effort to be healthier, I got rice rather than chips. Felt silly about it ever since) at the beginning of my holiday in the UK. It was just what you’d want for an introduction to English fish and chips! Friendly, personal service, huge portions and entertaining talk with George. Fish (haddock) was great, rice was tasty, my friend’s chicken was good (though too much to eat in one meal), and I did have some of her chips, which were excellent. Chips are bigger than American fries, not as greasy; definitely better. Check out the comic pages on the walls, done by a local lad who produces his own comic, The Zoom, in the tradition of the Beano! This was especially endearing, since I run a comic shop back home in America.
