Will be back again. Recently The Eagle closed down for refurbishment and so on my lunch break I strayed further away than the local I had become accustomed to. I found, just down the road, my new local William IV. Their website, informative and stylish, intrigued me and after seeing the menu I made a booking online for me and my friend’s lunch. When we got there a table by the window had been reserved. The atmosphere has airy and relaxed, a fire was purring away and the music was nice. A very friendly Kiwi girl took our drinks order, we indulged, tempted by the wine list, in a bottle of syrah viognier which was delicious. When it came to ordering our food I was surprised to see there was a specials menu. I had the lamb shank, which came with root mash and spinach and my friend had the duck which had roast potatoes and red cabbage. We both enjoyed our food immensely despite the wait. The pub filled out as we were paying up (very reasonably priced) and I can’t stress how nice it is to be looked after by such great staff. please nnote the william the 4th is not closed
