OK, I guess ?. Great venue, exposed brick and timber barn conversion, staff were friendly too, it’s just that I somehow expected more from the main meal, a little more pzazz perhaps ? A plate with a spoon of boiled carrots, boiled red cabbage and cauliflower and new potatoes surrounding a centrally heaped pile of mashed potato garnished with mango chutney and finished off with a small medallion of pork sitting on top does not constitute shining excellence and savoir fayre by the chef in my book, it takes something a little bit special to shine from the competition in today’s competitive market and I’m afraid that relying on the ambiance of a loft conversion (albeit a very good one) will not draw customers back to pay hard earned money for such mediocre fare.
