Great atmosphere and delicious food. My wife and I ate here on valentines’ night and left with huge smiles on our faces. On past Valentines’ nights we’ve been to several other restaurantes in town, but sadly many have now gone down hill a touch. At La Taverna, the staff were all incredibly attentive and the food was brilliantly presented and very well cooked. The fillet of beef I had for my main was perfectly cooked and extremely tender; it didn’t come with a steak knife, but it turned out not to be necessary. The owner took the time to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves and that everything was to their satisfaction; a very nice touch these days as good, warm, service tends not to be something I expect when eating in England lately. There was a singer and pianist entertaining on the night (Picaso, I think they were called), playing some classic romantic pop songs, and as meals were finished they really livened up the atmosphere with some more upbeat numbers (I hope they bring them in to play again on ‘normal’ nights). All in all, a top night and a top place, we’ll definitely be dining here again in the coming months.

Chorizo sausages were burnt and dry to the point of being inedible. Prawns Taverna Style- cooked prawns chucked on a plate with just lettuce. For main course we had to share potatoes. Portions were small and in overall food was well below average. The manager was ignorant and patronising with absolutely no clue about good customer service. He couldn’t have cared less when I complained about my main course. The place also lacks of basics. There was no salt and pepper on the table and white wine was served without an ice bucket. There are too many good places to eat close by where the price reflects the quality of food, quality of service, and quality of experience and therefore I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Went as part of a party of 15, every one was well catered for, lots of excellent variety on menu, food excellent, service brilliant! would highly recomend!!
:-). Gorgeous food, very friendly and helpful staff, lovely romantic atmosphere. Excellent value for money. Staff catered to our every need. excellent choice of specials in addition to the extensive menu. RECOMMENDED!
