Definately not for functions. We recently went for our end of year meal to ‘Ours’. We were left with a number of issues: We were left waiting to be seated and were eventually seated in 3 different areas. We had pre-booked from the menu (a week in advance) and people were still left waiting for their food. The food left a lot to be desired – Sizzling platters were just warm, a vegetable sizzling platter was boiled and had to be sent back. Sides came out at random. Deserts started arriving before everyone had been given their main. Their were no apologies – although we did get a couple of bottles of free wine (which had to be requested – rather than offered). In my opinion, the waiting staff and kitchen were phased and couldn’t cope with orders for a larger party, plus the seating arrangements meant we were playing an unwelcome game of musical chairs to speak to our colleagues.It could be that ‘Ours’ offers decent pub grub – But on this occasion I’d have been much happier and satisfied with a beer and burger for under a fiver at one of the other chain pub/restaurants just around the corner.
