Located in the historic Old Siege House in Colchester, Gastro 1603 is unique in its cuisine, which is authentic Italian with French influences. The chefs strive to use only the finest local produce to create their wonderful culinary combinations. The ambience is sophisticated and relaxed, making the restaurant a perfect place for intimate dining, or to enjoy the company of family and friends. Live jazz is provided by the resident pianist every Thursday to Saturday evening in the lounge bar, adding to the atmosphere. We love the Tuna Lorraine - rare seared tuna with roasted courgette, aubergine, peppers, green pesto and black olive tapenade croute; and the Best End of Lamb, served with pancetta mash and a rich redcurrant and rosemary jus (served pink).
