One of the best, if not the best Jazz place in London.Very recommended for a special night with friends, family, or lover. The food is really great, as well as the drinks. They have a very large Whiskey variety to try.
Our waiter was charming and eloquent. Complimentary bread and butter were brought to the table as we sat down.My companion’s order of braised beef cheeks off the daily specials menu was brilliant. Braised in wine and onion for 24 hours, it had a slightly oriental caramelized flavor. Beautifully tender and a well balanced dish garnished with young carrots and mash.My rib eye was cooked on a charcoal grill and good but not spectacular, probably due to under seasoning. I did resent paying 22 pounds for a 200 gram steak and then having to fork out another 4 for chips and 3 for some bearnaise sauce. Bearnaise could have been more acidic for my taste. The kick of tarragon was also not terribly pronounced and it lacked seasoning too.Coffees after lunch were served lukewarm. So despite our waiter being charming and attentive, he left our coffees to stand on the bar for quite some time. General impression was of good food. But I felt my order was overpriced.
Great for drink with colleagues/friends!But also great burger and sweet potato fries. If you come for lunch during the week it is a very relaxed place compared to other lunch options around canary wharf.
For once, me and my friends were dressed for the occasion and oh my, what a night it was. Breathtaking view, ethereal ambience, courteous waiting staff, food so good, I felt I hadn’t eaten in ages and to top it all off, a live Jazz performance. The chicken pie I’d ordered was baked to perfection and had a rich filling, the breads and mashed potatoes were as good as they come and all this was enhanced even further with the choice of English & Dijon Mustard and Horseradish sauce.
Fab night, great food, lovely wine and great tunes. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful Scottish Resturant! Jazz band plays add you enjoy a fine dinning experience. Great steaks, Haggis, superb desserts. Service was slow, but the management stepped in to lend a hand to the uninterested waiter.
Fantastic steaks, good music and nice to have a drink before dinner on the terrace
