  • A Chicken In The Kitchen

Having just arrived in London from Italy, I had the wish to dine with my friend. Nevertheless, work gets often the leg up on leisure so I decided to reach Canary Wharf in order to catch up with my friend and have a fast nibble in the cellar shopping centre. I had avocado bacon burger, nicely made up with avocado, crispy bacon, house Mayo, salad and beef. Then skinny fries, not exactly what I was expecting, too much thin…but it depends on liking. As a whole, a very tasty dinner.

I couldn’t sit in as I had to rush for an event. i had the taxi driver Burger. It was very well made and was a good portion, sufficient enough to quench any hunger!

Having just moved to London for at least the next three months Ive opened myself up to an innumerable number of new food places to try. Living and working in Londons docklands means there are quite a few chains around (this could be good or bad) and I decided to eat out for lunch and get my first burger into me.Gourmet Burger Kitchen has something like 20 locations around London so I was hoping for a good experience so I have a good staple close by.Went downstairs with a colleague around 12:10 and the place was already filling up. Im not used to these sorts of crowds thats for sure.Anyway, I went with the GBK Cheese and Bacon (beef w/ crispy bacon, BBQ sauce, pickle, salad, American cheese) and skinny fries as an intro. We waited about 15 minutes for them to arrive (fine by me) and they looked good. The burger nicely made up with good quantities of sauce, lettuce, tomato and pickle. The meat was cooked perfect and the bun nice and soft. The bun was a bit too thick for my liking so it was a little dry but not a problem overall. A very good first pick and already much better than the food I ate last time I was here. The skinny fries are rather weird actually as they are very very stringy and dont have much of a potato taste. No fuss though, they were nice, just not what I was expecting. Next time though Id probably go for the thicker cut chips. All in all a very good lunch and for around 11 it was worth it.

Good burgers, quick service. Had a quick dinner here today – the Habanero burger, with thin fries was a perfect light meal. The Habanero jam is easily the best thing about it!

With the lunch time set it is a decent deal. Although the burgers seems a bit dry at times and the buns a bit soggy, you get what you pay for. If you are willing to part with a bit more cash, try Byron just across the road. quieteating.com

A burger craving paradise. There are good options for veggies also. The Californian (newly introduced) matches in style and taste with its counterparts in the meat section. The good thing also is that there are a couple of meat burgers in which the meat can be swapped to a veggie patty. The shakes are thick and bountiful. Go for the Rosemary skinny fries – something which you might not get to the same standard elsewhere. Its a benchmark on skinny fries.Caution: on the expensive side but worth the burgers.

GBK is always a good choice when u crave for a good Burger time. O good thin fries with yummy banana Shake, While you wait for your order you can go grab some peanuts from the sack lol. Its expensive but i use my taste card its like 50%off on the bill something.
