Having previously tried Aniseed and feeling let down I found out there was another curry place right near me. Lime had no one in it at the time I went in, but Im always willing to give it a go.I ordered the Lamb Tikka, Garlic Naan and White Rice.Lamb Tikka very good in terms of flavour and quantity. The meat couldve been a bit tender but overall no complaints from me. Just spicy enough.Garlic Naan bit of a let down (most have been here) as there wasnt much garlic on it. Not bad but a bit too floury for my liking.White rice is white rice.Overall I enjoyed here a bit more, still trying to find a real great curry (likely going to have to go to Bricklane is what people tell me) but I would visit again.
Dudes. This is a very nice unpretentious Indian bar and restaurant. I was a little anxious about eating at this combination as my view is that pub food is generally shrink wrap food. However I was pleasantly surprised. Very friendly waiters. Even when I insisted that only Having one house wine by the glass was limiting by today’s standards Starter lamb tikka was excellent and a crunchy carrot with cumin seed salad worked. The house white was more palatable ( Pinot Grigio he said but not sure about that. It was nice and good value, their large glasses are obscenely large!)Not rushed service. Garlic chicken Bhuna was saucy but I knew would be over powering with garlic. I would just go for the normal Bhuna in future. Not that I did not finish the dish! Chicken was good. Chapatis light. Sauce good. If you want a good Indian in this area you can’t do worse. Will be back to try the normal Bhuna. Nice to see Indian restaurants trying to be a little different with being too radical. Well done chaps.
Aaloo tikki from this restaurant is quite good. I really like it. I like spicy food and it is giving authentic Indian taste.I recommend everyone to try the Aaloo tikky once from this restaurant if you are in london. You will not be disappointed.Abience wise it is good. if you want to spend nice quite time with your hubby without much noise than this is the place to be….
A 10min walk from Canary Wharf station and you find yourself in a somewhat hidden area of docklands, here you find a couple of restaurants in among a residential area of apartment and flats. One of these restaurants is lime bar. I was taken here by a friend and decided to not check out reviews before my visit. I wish I did. I’m not going be kind to this bland, tasteless and unimaginative restaurant. Oh dear, looks like I’ve given away my thoughts already.Let’s start with some positives, the restaurant is spacious with good lighting, seating and use of modern colours. However, upon entering, the place was like a ghost town. For a thursday night the restaurant was extremely empty there was only one party there. This should have set the alarm bells ringing and was a clear sign of what was to come.Even though the restaurant is called line bar there wasn’t any mocktails on the menu. For starters we ordered lamb chops and Lamb tikka, the sizzling lamb chops had a nice unique taste in a barbecue like sauce with a few other spices, the chops were the only highlight of the night.Mains, I ordered the lamb shank which was a house special the meat was prepared the day before. When it arrives on the table I was impressed with the size however the excitement was very short lived, let’s cut to the chase it was awful like really really bad it had no taste whatsoever and was just basically lamb shank mixed with ketchup and tomatoes that’s about it, it was very bland there was almost no flavour what so ever I can’t believe that someone can call themselves a chef when they made this completely tasteless meal. My friend ordered the lamb rogan and that was equally as bad it had the same sauce and was tasteless as well this restaurant suffers from the top ical old brick lane use the same source ketchup problem which I thought did not exist anymore. To sum up, the food was awful and I would not recommend this place at all. The service was also average.Food – 2Service – 2.5Atmosphere – 2.5Value – 2 halalfoodguy.co.uk

Amazing!. This restaurant is amazing!! Definately the best Indian/Bengali restaurant we’ve been to. The portions were fantastic, the staff were friendly and helpful and to add to it the prices were excellent. I honestly can’t praise Lime enough, and I know this is somewhere we will always return to and recommend which is a first!!
Best Indian takeaway on the isle of dogs, and we have tried quite a few and nothing compares! Reasonably priced for very good quality of food!
