A prime spot in the west winter garden at Canary Wharf makes Obica a very attractive prospect for lunch. This mozzarella bar with an excellent wine list serves light, imaginative lunches using the best ingredients. It’s not a knockout but it kind of does what you’d expect of it, being suitably minimalistic for not overindulging in lunch meetings. When I ate there I had mozzarella di buffalo and celeriac on bread with tomato and rocket. Then a special of yellowfin tuna on pasta mista with ham and mozzarella. Light, tasty and washed down lazily with a good red.

Obic is a mozzarella bar – as such, most of the menu revolves around those white spheres of deliciousness. Don’t expect haute cuisine here, just good simple cooking based on good quality ingredients. I went for the classic caprese salad (they have two sizes for this). The plain mozzarella was light and fluffy, as it should be, and the sliced tomatoes, of various colours, were lovely too. For mains, I got the pizza with Tuscan sausage and blu di bufala cheese. This took a short while to arrive (something must have been going on in the kitchen), but when it did arrive, it was very good for a pizza baked in an electric oven. (Given the restaurant’s location in the lobby of an office building, I assume it would be difficult to install a wood-fired oven there).Overall a decent, unpretentious meal.

Great tasting and very large pizzas. I think I almost died trying to force one down my throat the other day. Probably one of the better Italian eateries in Canary Wharf. quieteating.com

I dont eat a lot of cheese but when I do. 😉 I wanted to eat something that wasnt a mains portion but still get that filling feeling, you know what I mean? I know cheese and bread is not exactly light but the texture of the Stracciatella di burrata is creamy, fresh and the coldness of that paired with the bread is perfect.Ive heard their pizzas are good but cant say as I havent tried themyet! But a Mozzarella Bar is one I like. If youre craving some good quality mozzarella and nothing else, then make you way to these guys. Find more information on their website foodiarieslondon.com

Great for a glass of wine and a quick bite for an after work catch up. Good wine selection by the glass. I love their caponata – would recommend! And of course the buratta!

Great location, very bustling and clearly a favorite haunt for the office after drinks. Not really a place to have a romantic meal though! We had the tasting board to start. Very authentic and good quality of prosciutto and salami. Props for that! Main course I had the pappardelle which was again authentic but I felt could have been cooked better. The tiramisu was fab!

Obica serves one of the best mozzarella that you could get in London! I tried the smoked mozzarella and they’re so soft and milky in the centre. For main course, I tried the lasagna while my friends had the nduja pasta and ravioli. The food are really tasty and personally I love the ravioli as it has the porcini flavour and cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend a visit there!
