This place was recommended by an acquaintance so we visited late on a Monday evening for dinner. We were seated on the upper level which is for dining in (the lower level is more of a lounge bar). For starters, we ordered the sharing board of mediterranean cured meats which consisted of 3 kinds of cured meats/ salamis, 3 kinds of cheeses, a bowl of olives and some toasted ciabatta. This was alright but a second look at the starters menu made me think we could have gone for something more interesting like the halloumi and chorizo kebab or perhaps the crab cakes.. Anyways, we then ordered the salami, chorizo, prosciutto, pancetta and roasted chilli pizza. Yes that was all one pizza so I was quite excited in anticipation. The pizza itself was really good so that went well. We were unsure about ordering dessert as their dessert menu looked quite uninteresting. Nevertheless, we decided to try the Affogato. Meh…did not appeal to my tastebuds! We ended up eating only the vanilla ice cream and the amaretti cookies. Would recommend this place for pizzas.

I am sure not many people working in Canary Wharf would even know that this place exists unless you happen to come to Jamie’s Italian. Unfortunately, it has been disadvantaged by its location. Earlier, on sunny days, the place was packed as the outside terrace was almost the last place in Canary Wharf to get into the shadows of the tall buildings. However, with the new building coming up right in front, I believe it will be perpetually in its shadows.Apart from that nuisance, I love this place. The food platters are lip-smacking tasty and the service is fast even on a packed day and not to forget the waiters in their red dress who look like Virgin’s airhostesses. However it just has 2 beers on offer, a big Budwar for about 5 and a small Peroni for about 3. I hope they could add more variety. There is a restaurant on 2nd floor which in my view offers far better food than Jamie’s next door.
Leisurely and Fun. This restaurant and bar has a small but very delicious and varied menu at good prices. The environment is great for a long, leisurely lunch or dinner and staying to chat and drink afterwards feels natural – like you’re in the bar now.The servers are kind and polite, and very efficient. Highly recommended.
