I was bored and wanted to go out with couple of my friends so I decided to go to this place. I absolutely loved the ambience and the food. The place was LIT EVEN ON A THURSDAY NIGHT.

Came here in 2012 for dinner and have never been back here to eat. The setting is lovely however the food quality was very poor. It may have changed since. However that meal is forever etched in my memory. I ordered the asparagus ravioli and almost choked on the level of salt inside those little packets. It is a nice place to come for drinks as a pair or in a group. For that reason I have given it a rating of 2. Maybe some day I’ll give the food another chance.

Lovely place to eat in E14! This is both a bar and a restaurant, the bar was crowded at night usually. Most times we went the restaurants is empty so we basically have the whole place. The food was good especially the salmon fish cakes, which you can get from the menu basically all day! Their set menus are quite appealing as drinks are included too!

Went here for some early evening drinks and pretty much stayed all night. It is a great and unique setup. The high ceilings and lounge-like feel to the place really set it off. On the night we went, there was a big football match on the screens, so it was very busy and had a great buzz. Problem was that it was tough to find a seat.I stuck to the cocktail menu for most of the night. Great drinks and wonderful friendly staff. We were having a great time and a staff member later approached me and invited me and my group to the exclusive bar on one of the top floors in the building. Views were amazing from up there and the bar was a lot less crowded.Overall, we had a very memorable evening, even though I am sure that some members of the group would have struggled to remember much the next day. Great place, worth a visit.

Hardly surprising that all reviewers find this place to be their Central Cafe from FRIENDS, because surely there is nothing remotely like this in E14Lofty ceilings, comfortable sofas, corner seats and good selection of snack and coffee to choose from make it a perfect place for a relaxing evening. However that said, should you wish to stay back for dinner, I would strong advice against it. The mains are expensive and hardly tempting.

When you are in one of those mood where you don’t want to venture out too far yet you wish to have a nice evening out (happens to me every Sunday evening), a place like Tompkins is where you go to. Tucked away in an alley next to South Quay DLR station it remains hidden so as to not attract a deluge of people and therein lies part of its charm. You can always find a nice couch for yourself here.. Sit back and chat idly while sipping one of their fine wines or coffee if that’s more to your liking. Have nibbled on their bread baskets and fries and some desserts, happy to report that none of them disappoint.

If you have seen Friends lounging in Central Cafe, you know what to expect. This place is not too off, and you can enjoy a relaxed cuppa with your mates here. The starters are also nice, the bread board does not disappoint. Not too many options if you detest eating the living (my wife in this case) which immediately took off 80% of the menu off bounds for me.Still enjoyed the drinks and the nice trendy settings.Go for it!
