I booked a table through their website where you need to give your details like telephone number and email address. The table was booked with one month in advance to celebrate our wedding. We went there in our special day at 13:45, table was booked for 14:00 on 27 th December of 2018. When we arrived there one guy opened the door and told us that it was closed. We told him that we have booked a table at 14:00 he says that he knows but they have a technical problem with the kitchen and they werent sure what time they will open, probably at 15:00 So instead of call us or send us an email to aware us that the restaurant it was closed they leave us to arrive there and ruin our special day in our wedding. Definitely the customer services was awful, I was almost crying in front of their door. I will not recommend to nobody go there, our experience was really very sad. Imagine if happen to you in your wedding, how will you feel? They also knew that we are going with a baby that he was crying feeling cold outside.Really thank you for call us or send us an email, I will definitely not come back never ever.
My go to French restaurant when in London. Quaint and intimate with good value for money compared to the usual London prices. Service is always good and so is the food. Book though, as this place is small and it fills up quick
Uptown and wanting to push the boat out a little. Have walked past this restaurant for years but never went in. So me and a friend decided we woukd take the plunge!Small, intimate and perfect for a romantic night out. Tables are a little bit too close for my liking, otherwise the table setting was inviting and crisp. Wine glasses shining and cutlery gleaming. Menu is a variety of French classics. I decided upon pheasant and my friend went for the duck. Both cooked beautifully and duck rare, with crisp skin. Perfect. Wine was expensive but the menu had an extensive list to choose from. I was too full for dessert. An intimate restaurant, perfect for date night!
Far from what French food should be. I don’t get what people are getting on about this place. If you want French food there are much better places in London.
This is a very reasonably priced French restaurant on Upper Street in an intimate venue. You can get a three course meal with wine for about 25 per head. Decent portion sizes and lovely service.
Awful service. This place came highly recommended by some friends of mine so I decided to finally give it a go only to have an awful experience. Luckily I was rescued by a pop up restaurant nearby which served incredible food out of a converted Citroen garage! Having made a booking for 8pm I and my girlfriend turned up only to be told brusquely by the owner that they didn’t take bookings at 8(!) so I had to wait at least an hour. I pointed out that maybe his staff who take phone calls should be told of this stringent rule, only for him to shrug and turn his back on me.I cannot comment on the food but I did read beforehand that the service was suspect. I thought i’d put up with this because of the low prices and supposedly lovely food but now suppose the owners are of the impression that as long as you charge people pittance you can be as rude as you like to them. This is true to some extent, until diners start to realise that it would make for a more pleasant experience to pay a little bit more and not be treated like a nuisance. I won’t be giving this place a second chance as there are loads of nicer places on Upper St.
We didn’t even get to eat!. We booked a table at the new second Le Mercury, but when we arrived we were told that although they had our booking the restaurant was full. The restaurant had apparently either taken some people in who had not booked or had over-booked. We were asked to come back in half an hour but we were not at all confident that there would be a table at 8pm when the restaurant was so full at 7.30. The person who spoke to us was distinctly unapologetic about it. This is the first time in 30 years of dining out that a restaurant has failed to honour a booking and I am left distinctly unimpressed.
