An amazing place, loved the vibes and the insence that hits you when you walk through the door! Music could have been a little louder but other than that I couldn’t fault it. Best cocktails ever!

Lovely place for brunch or a few afterwork drinks. The place is huge so you’ll always find a table (+1 in my book!).Food is a rather nice mix of British and American classics and very fairly priced. My favourites include the Chorizo Mac n’ Cheese (pretty much my cryptonite) and the Chocolate Brownies. The Full English is really nice as well (not too greasy) and the beans on toast are amongst the best I’ve ever had (they’re smokey and have little bits of bacon in them! yum!).Also good to know for fans of sports: they show MANY games, from football to rugby and everything inbetween (any Irish Football fans around?). cakeandwhisky.com

This is a very nice looking place with Edison light bulbs everywhere and cool little pictures on the walls. There are couch areas that give it a welcoming relaxing feel, it’s pretty spacious as well. Before we left we stopped for a go on the Rolling Stones pinball machine and probably ended up staying another 20 minutes trying to beat each other’s scores, not enough places have pinball machines anymore! There were posters on the walls and flyers on the table with events almost daily, different style music nights and cool things like music bingo, so there’s a reason to go back! The food, the nachos grande were decent and a big portion. The burgers were ok.. These burgers that are so big that are nigh on impossible to eat can be annoying at the best of times and as much as I like blue cheese but to put a whole packet in a burger is a bit sickly. The actual burger itself was over cooked and dry and that was both burgers not just one. Overall this place is recommended to go for a drink and the pinball machine but with the multitude of fancy burger bars around Angel I probably wouldn’t head back for food.

This is a great place to come for a drink in the week, and a dance at the weekend. The place is in the style of an American bar and serves a selection of indulgent meals like fried chicken, burgers and hot dogs. I came with friends on a Friday night planning on having a quiet few drinks, but were soon enticed onto the dance floor by the DJ playing a selection of disco classics. There are a number of booths and a good outdoor seating area for smokers. All in all a great new bar in Islington.
