Food was good but not extraodinary. We were at the discounted soft launch, but at full price it would have been a rather pricey (if boozy) dinner for two at 100 before service. We had 500ml carafes of both the house red and white priced at 14 each. Both were nice. Portions are small, especially relative to price..It’s a big space but some of the tables are rather close together. Nice view of the open kitchen and decent acoustics but I found the space too warm on a fine sunny day.My companion started with courgette flowers, which turned out to be a single courgette flower priced at 9. It was quite tasty though. Stuffed with herby ricotta and steamed with a sauce of anchovy and pecorino and garnished with pea shoots. I started with seafood fregola. This was quite soupy and tasted of bouillaibaise. It contained one shelled mussel, rings of calamri and little cubes of octopus. I was hoping for clams but they weren’t present. The pasta was still nice and chewy.I had the roast king prawns with salmoriglio. Four large prawns were 17. The salmoriglio was lovely and I wish I had a little bread for sopping up the lovely cooking juices. Heads were on, but bodies had been peeled. My companion’s polenta with goat ragu was tasty. Polenta was wetter than normal, but we have only eaten polenta in northern Lombardy, and Radici is based on the southern food of Sardinia and Calabria. We had a few vegetable sides. I was curious about agretti, which had the texture of samphire but the flavour of spinach. It was simply steamed and served with a wedge of lemon and a little sprinkle of bottarga. Aubergine agrodolce was wonderfully smokey if a little underseasoned for my taste. For dessert we shared the bergamot baba. Very restrained dessert, being not too sweet. Moistened with earl grey instead of rum. Accompanying cream was only slightly sweetened.Dinner was good, but I am not sure I would be willing to pay full price here.
