The Bull in Islington is a good little boozer. Not to shabby at all amongst your high street chain bars and no end of restaurants. Whilst on the high street, it has a local feel to it. Loads of speciality beers are on offer here as well as some good entertainment with DJ’s, quiz nights and what not. Good for a wee drink before heading to a nearby late night venue or they do a good Sunday Roast I am told. I went for an after work drink with some estate agents. The pub is very welcoming of suited and booted, as well as casual folk. Enjoy. cookandpour.co.uk

Bustling pub at the weekends and has live music – prices are average and atmosphere is good. Haven’t had the chance to eat here yet but would be keen to try.

I really like coming to the bull in the afternoon for tea or in the evening for a drink. This is a great place to come and sit with friends. The bull is perfectly located at the corner of Theberton street and has big open windows so you can comfortably stand outside. The restaurant has high ceilings and lots of space to stand or sit and so it becomes really full on weekends. They have a good selection of beers and ciders and they also serve some good smaller dishes to have with your drinks. The service isn’t great because they don’t have that many people working here and so you have to go to the bar yourself, however the staff is mostly friendly and helpful.

The Bull is a perfectly nice and well stocked pub. It has a good atmosphere, especially in the evenings when it is usually busy, filled with youngish professionals. It is decorated like most of the pubs in the area, with fashionably rustic wooden furniture in the main area, which gives way to a more intimate seating area at the back. There is also a seating area upstairs where I sat, which is slightly quieter and less finished. The menu mixes traditional pub fare with sharing plates and bar snacks. You can mix and match starter plates at 12 for free which is okay value considering Islington prices; the salt and pepper squid and nachos are unsurprisingly delicious. They also serve indulgent main courses; the chicken and ham hock pie is absolutely delicious, and the steak was well cooked. I would recommend coming here for either a drink or a relaxed, comforting dinner.

A classic pub with good food. The difference of this place is the staff. A young group of Irish guys will serve you and put a great atmosphere in this place. I had a good moment talking with them and laughing around. It is a cosy and clean place with a great staff. What else do you need? I had the snack for share at 11 which makes a very decent price and sufficient in quantity to have a good chat with a few pints.
