One of the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food was so delicious. There vegetables were fresh and beef was moist. Also they used yummy sauces. I’ll recommend this cafe to everyone if you want to try some delicious dishes. Really love it.

Great Friendly Pub!. The New Rose is always welcoming and full of friendly chatty people,it comprises of two sides, one being a warm wooden bar the other being more brick and bling. The pub has it’s own unique character that attracts the same, always full of different people out to enjoy their night, be it alone, or with friends. The food is very good and the bar staff are friendly and seem to enjoy their work, helping to maintain a very good atmosphere within the pub. The music is very varied and they often have different events taking place that are of great interest,Simon Napier Bell was only recently filmed there doing a questions and answers evening, most enjoyable, I believe there is more exciting things planned for the future. If your wondering how or why I have so much to say with regards to The New Rose it’s because it’s my local, I am very aware of it’s place within our community with many local pubs being turned into flats. So keep up the good work – good service – mix of customers, character and charm. P.P.
This is a fun little pub on Essex Road. There always seems to be a themed night on whenever I pop in here, giving it an exciting energy. I love it’s darkened candlelit interior, making drinking here a little more intimate than a lot of the busier Islington pubs. They sell my favourite American beer, Blue Moon, and various unusual lagers. For smokers there is a cute little walled garden out the back, meaning you aren’t forced out onto the street to smoke. They also have a long wine list but bottles aren’t that cheap, starting at around 16. Overall, a great atmosphere and fun local.
I really like the New Rose for a drink after work, and there is a great buzz about it on the weekend as well. The interior is just how I like my pubs; dark and dingy which gives the place a bit of atmosphere and attracts a cool, young crowd. There is also a great little secret garden hidden at the back of the pub which is a smokers haven, decorated with cute white tables and chairs and pretty pot plants. The lagers that are on tap are not quite to my taste, as its quite heavy on serving Spanish lagers, but I was happy with my pint of Budwar which is actually quite hard to come by even in London. The wine list is quite extensive with at least six different white and red wines on offer, ranging in price from cheapest at 18 to about 25 for a bottle.I havent yet eaten a full meal here but it seems to offer the kind of trendy pub fare thats popular in Islington, such as a selection of imaginatively topped burgers and stone baked pizzas. I have tried some of the bar snacks however, which includes classics like sausage rolls and scotch eggs alongside more fancy options like charcuterie and cheeses.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, really good pizzas and burgers. Best pub in Islington by a mile.
