The Botanist is one of my favourite places in Birmingham, I regularly visit on the weekend the staff are lovely and are always happy to help! The variety of cocktails is one of the reasons I keep coming back!!! Also the dcor and overall concept is beautiful!
Always love coming here, one of the best places to come in birmingham if you’re looking for a fun atmosphere! The food is delicious especially since the new menu launched and the ales selection is out of this world with a fab Ales Anthology to help decide on what to have!
Surprisingly large with kind of shabby chic interior. Good live music plus you get to make music requests! The divine food and excellent liquor choice and range of cocktails.
Went there in the morning and was really delighted by the food they served and the ambience. Waiters were really kind. I forgot what I ate, but that is the impression that was left with me from my visit (that is what is important to get a customer to come back)
I’ve now been to Botanist twice, for very different occasions and for quite different reasons, so this is a tricky review to write. First occasion was the official press launch night and having seen photos of the fun and clever ways food was presented, I was looking forward to sampling both that, and the vast array of intriguing cocktails on offer. Sadly, not only was food scarce (I managed to catch a flap of ham and a tiny wedge of brie from a passing platter), but they appeared to give up on cocktails after the first hour, and then ran out of rum entirely. Not a great first impression, especially given the expectations that’d been built up. We were also glared at on entry, presumably as we’d not dressed to the satisfaction of the clip-board clutching door staff. The second occasion was for a Yelp! Elites event where we were invited to try a cocktail and a main course and was a much improved experience. The cocktail I went for initially (blackberry and rosemary fizz, 7.50) was delicious, although more blackberry than anything else. The sprig of rosemary adds a really interesting twist as you can smell it as you drink. I also tried an Apricot danmorrissey.com
