The Old Crown they say is the oldest pubs in Birmingham or West Midlands area and one of the oldest in United Kingdom. It’s establishment dates back to 1368 !!! It’s just about 5-7 min. walk away from Birmingham’s famous Bullring and moment you enter it has got this mysterious old world charm which makes u want to travel back in old times. Nothing swanky but well maintained building and decor. It’s a hotel too with rooms upstairs and pub downstairs. They serve good food too. They have done really well in preserving their heritage.
Seldom does one get to experience a cold pint at a heritage establishment. I make it a point to stop by each time I visit Birmingham. The food and drink are as good as any other pub you might find however, I’d come here just to sit at the old tables, admire the carvings on them, and just be amazed that the place was built in the 16th century. Perhaps some of the people who helped shaped the world as we know it once sat on those very tables. Who knows? I’d recommend The Old Crown to everybody.
