Despite primarily coming hear to hear the live jazz, I happened to go on the one Thursday that there was no music, but football on a screen instead. In any case, since the venue did seem quite quirky with mushroom shaped stools, gramophones, a juke box and other intriguing decorations, I decided to stay for some cocktails. The first one I had, the Japanese slipper, was quite nice; it pretty much tasted like alcoholic pineapple which is right up my street. The second one, called the blue drink the bartender had never made before and was told how to make by his colleague really quickly and without any attention to ratios as far as I could hear, but I still liked it. It tasted like a fruit punch with almond.I would recommend ordering an old fashioned if you’re a whisky lover because he did take ages to make it for my boyfriend and I could see how much attention he put into making it perfect.I am going to have to go back for the live music but in general I did enjoy my night there so I’d be happy to return for another one. darcrose22albionadventures.blogspot.com
