We had a poor eating experience at Bintang, cheap ingredients drowned in greasy sauces seems to be the norm. Six of us has different dishes but all were of very poor quality. Give this place a wide bearth.

This was a disappointing return to Bintang. Had acceptable food there a few years ago but the place has gone down hill big time. They no longer make their own sauces as they have resorted to using bought in supermarket instead. This is a shame as it is no longer serving authentic food.

A drop in standards. For years Bintang was your your local, not too fancy, value for money Cafe,. unfortunately this is no longer the case. Fusion has become confusion and trying to offer dishes from several different countries is not always a good idea. Frozen Seabass becomes a dried out piece of tasteless fish when cooked for far too long and Lamb Rendang cannot be saved by long cooking if the cut of meat is of poor quality in the first place. They are cutting corners here big time and it shows, won’t be returning again either.

Cheap and nasty. Cheap cuts of meat can be good but not if treated badly, cooking here was a huge disappointment for us. Because of this, I felt I had to write a first time poor review. Don’t be fooled by exotic names on the menu, this stuff is coming straight from supermarket own brand jars and tins.If you are not happy and want to remove their added service charge the staff will say it is not possible. Not the fault of the staff though as the owner keeps the tips. Very naughty practice.

Keep walking. The food may have been ok in the past but is now a total disaster. Uncle Ben or similar sauces are being used throughout and housekeeping is also poor.

Bintang is so Awful. I was shocked to find how poor the food now is in the refurbished Bintang. It’s called fusion? No spice, no taste. All our dishes were covered in nasty oily mayo type sauces/ dips. The old yummy stalwart, lamb rendang, now has a blast of coconut but no spice AT ALL!!! The meat is badly cut so although it has been cooked so long as to be tasteless, it is also very, very tough. They can’t even cook rice properly any longer – the coconut rice was utterly revolting – thin and slimy. The waitress was in such a rush she was pulling the plated from us as we ate. And the nice relaxing atmosphere has goooone – it’s just a frenzy of money making. Give this place a very very wide berth

Jaqui. Average food at low prices, there are much better options further up the street.Worst of all is that the owner keeps the service charge and tips.
