Before last weekend I’d walked past Danny’s several times, and always wanted to check the place out – the place opens all its doors so that the smell of fish and chips wafts a bit down the street toward the Kentish Town Forum. Well, more specifically it’s that smell of salt, vinegar and chips all muddled together – you know what I’m on about.So myself and my girlfriend decided to venture in last weekend and were not disappointed. We thought we were paying a bit for small portions but they ended up – as they so often do in chippies – being quite big. The fish (I had haddock, she had cod) was delicious and the batter was minimal as if to complement the fish. Too many chippies (I eat at a lot of them, I love chips) have so much batter on the fish that often all you can taste is the batter. This didn’t.Mushy peas were tasty – huge portions! Probably advised to share as no-one wants that much mushy peas (surely..?). Will definitely eat there again.
