This place has a food hygiene rating of two.That’s two out of five. That’s low by any standards, but somewhere serving raw fish you really want it up at around 4 or 5. Avoid like the plague.
Came here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. My first time in a Japanese restaurant! Excellent experience, delicious grub. Very kitsch front window but inside is minimalist; there is an excellent sunken seating area at the back. Brilliant, friendly service. Dishes cooked to order; very reasonably priced cocktails. Good choice!
First time being here. I love this place!!! 13 for sushi buffet ^-^ the waitress that served us is super friendly!! Nice atmosphere and it has beautiful Japanese decorations everywhere. Very comfy sitting on the cushions and last of all I JUST LOVE GREEN TEA ICE MILK TEA THERE!! You have to wait a bit for the food to come buts it’s alright not so long.
Been going back for years!. Lovely restaurant, location not great but who cares not there to sight see!Food has always been fantastic from the massive range of sushi to the lovely dishes like aromatic duck or a katsu curry!Portions are massive and prices are fantastic! Book in advance to get a nice table.
Good if you’re stuck in CATFORD. First, the nice waitress could not tell us what was in the sashimi platter… nevermind we took a gamble and ordered it anyway. Turns out the fish was pretty fresh even though the pieces were sloppily cut and were still stuck together at the edges.Next came my tobiko roll. As a lover of tobiko, I have had this sushi many times in my life, all over the world. NEVER have I seen it made so badly. It was as if the chef just could not be bothered and slapped the tobiko on, crushing the seaweed.Like all chinese run japanese restaurants, they try to give you more rice than sushi. This is fine, but if the restaurant owner is reading this, I would suggest that it would be smarter to put less rice in, so that customers actually have room for more fish, which is also more expensive.I lost track of the number of times I was ignored by the waitresses, one of which seemed not too bothered to do her job. We spent far longer than we expected to in that restaurant, half the time with empty plates. Finally, comments on the restaurant in general. The floor cushions smelled like they have never been washed and the place needs to be swept and dusted. Also the decor is in very bad taste. But I guess no one minds given the state of the surrounding area.Green tea ice cream is worth a mention though. It tasted and looked home made and was possibly the best green tea ice cream i’ve had even though it was unappetisingly presented in a cling-film wrapped glass cup. The waitress even offered to pack it in a cup for me since it took about 30 minutes for it to arrive, by which time I had to rush as my taxi home was waiting.
Our local Japanese, we eat there one or two times a month. Excellent sushi (try the salmon skin tempura rolls and the eel nigiri), super value bento boxes. Unreservedly reccomended!
