Pot luck?. I have eaten at Dragon BBQ a number of times over the last few years – its a good place to go at lunchtime if you want to eat plenty for cheap! The food is generally quite fresh and is regularly topped up by the seemingly hundreds of chaps that work there. Whilst it is unlikely to ever set the taste buds on fire it is good, honest Chinese (style) food to enjoy once in a while. Plus Points: Well priced, great selection, attentive staff.Bad Points: Seating uncomfortable, the tank full of parrot fish is a bit of an eye sore.

A went here sometime last year and the food was great, grab ur meats and cook them yourself at your table! having read the review from meatandtwoveg, I might have to revisit to see if the food is as good as my first visit

Won’t return to the Dragon. Dragon BBQ used to be one of the more reliable Chinese buffets in Brum.It was no Big Wok, but with plenty of choice, freshly- cooked food and a fair price, it was often a treat for me and the boy when our legs refused to carry us to Chinatown. However, last time we visited, the quality was noticeably poorer.Funnily enough, leaflets on the tables advertised their promise that prices had not been increased, but customers were getting the same great quality. I beg to differ Mr Dragon BBQ. It was clear cut-backs had been made. All the starters had that shriveled-under- the-heat-lamp look, or maybe they’ve just reduced the portion sizes. They had the same distinct deep fat fried taste which cloys in the mouth. Flavourwise there was little to discern the prawn toast from the vegetable spring roll.Although each main course dish was labeled in different sauces, my taste-buds told me that this was not true – with most of the meats and veggies swimming in watered-down sweet and sour flavor sauce. The salt chili prawns were good though and the crispy seaweed lovely and crunchy.Condiments such as soy and sweet chili dip had similarly been watered down, as had the ‘syrup’ offered to squeeze over your ice cream. It was all a bit depressing and I certainly won’t be returning until quality equals the price once again.P.S Customers are offered the option of a ‘dragon’ in the centre of their table where they can cook raw ingredients from scratch. In my opinion, it’s really not worth the extra cash…
