One of my favourite places on the busy, touristy South Bank. It’s a little dark inside but welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and aperitif but I usually stop for their incredible, Italian hot chocolate, which is how they make it in Italy and to die for: dark, rich, creamy and full of flavour. pastabites.co.uk

I rarely write reviews unless the restaurant is extremely good or extremely bad. This one – sorry – your service is terrible and the waiter’s knowledge is below zero! The restaurant looks decent at a convenient location. However things all went wrong from the moment I placed order. I told the waiter that I’m coming for lunch but he only gave me the drinks menu. So I have to ask for the menu again! Anyway, I ordered a kid’s meal (starter – main – dessert – hot chocolate) for my daughter and a pasta for myself. Drinks came but the hot chocolate is far too hot for kids (bear in mind, this drink is in the kids menu).Food came but only the pasta and ice cream. Ice cream?? Isn’t it too early – are you expecting us to watch it melting during our lunch? I requested to send the ice cream back to the fridge and serve it later but the waiter looked shocked! Isn’t it an unreasonable request? I then asked where’s the kid’s starter? The waiter said there isn’t the starter in the kids menu and he kept arguing it’s either the starter or the pasta that we can order!! Does it make sense?? He checked with another colleague and found out that there should be the starter so he came back and asked me to wait for 5 seconds. 5-4-3-2-1…. We carried on with our pasta and halfway we finished the mains, a waiter suddenly brought along the parmesan cheese!! Again, I don’t understand what’s going on!! Finally the starter came by the time we nearly finished our mains!! I would like to say that our lunch is all wrong and the service is worse than a high street chain restaurant!! The waiter has very limited knowledge on catering environment. I spoke to the restaurant and told her my experience here. She apologised and told me that the hot chocolate (the very hot one) is in fact the adult’s one which is not for kids. Although the manager offered me some discounts on this meal, I’m so disappointed with my whole experience. Will I come to here again? Definitely not as there are plenty other choices at South Bank. The food and drinks are not bad but we don’t want this kind of service again! No, thank you.

One of the best Italian coffee places in London. They have plenty of seats and big selection of coffee. My favourite is the espresso with chocolate which will impress even the non espresso drinker! The chocolate liquid that they use is very thick and not too sweet so I just really love it. Of course it’s a bit naughtier than a normal espresso as they also put a bit of cream on top but why not be naughty every now and then

Didn’t eat, but got hot chocolates. Two ways they serve them. With milk and without milk. They literally melt a bar of chocolate into a cup and to drink it.Without is thick. And with milk is creamy.

We just moved from St. James’ Park to Southbank. And we wanted to start trying out restaurants right away.LPQ was full so we saw the menu and it looked so tempting. We had the Primavera pizza, a diet coke and a beer for 20 pounds so clearly the 15 pounds for two people is way off, considering we only had the main course, since we were in a hurry. More Southbank restaurants soon! Can’t wait. 🙂

The interiors of this place are basic white, simple and soothing. The food is also very simple and quite average. I went for sandwiches, salads and hot chocolate. Except for hot chocolate, which was made from melted chocolate and tasted divine other things were just okay. You wont be missing out on something if you have not visited this place.

This place has to be visited once in order to understand completely what it has on offer. The stark white interiors done up so perfectly only enhance the quality of time one has here. The food is simply lovely. The place serves borderline perfect sandwiches priced reasonably well. What one should definitely try are its salads. The quantity is a lot, so beware before you order!
