Cubana was an interesting experience but not totally blown away. The ambience is stereotypically Cuban which makes the place fun to explore. The food was simple but good, while the drinks were cheap but not great. Space was limited as tables were squashed together and we found ourselves almost on-top of the adjacent tables. Overall the venue was very loud and noisy. At 11pm the restaurant turns into a club – though this was fun and the music festive, the transition time and wait while the band is setting up was rather frustrating. The club got immensely packed and rather hot leaving little space to dance and move. Was nice to try it out but definitely wouldnt hurry back anytime soon.

Small yet amazing place to party and enjoy with friends. Service experience was good, place was lit up well with some good music. It was too crowded when we went there that actually means that people love this place 🙂

We met friends at South Bank Centre for some hot cocoa with marshmallows (us girls) and beer (the boozy boys!). We hadn’t zeroed in on a restaurant and our friend P suggested going to Cubana. So we walked there and reached after I took a million photos of the wall graffiti en route. In the dead of winter, Cubana brought in so much warmth!! We struggled to get a table. But the boys worked their charm and got us seated.Between the four of us, I think we tried everything on the cocktail list! I loved my caiprinhas. Food is good…but frankly, I wouldn’t give it much importance. The music and ambiance were my priority. They open the dance floor after 10. Beautiful music and mood. The atmosphere takes over everything….all else will seem fantastic automatically.Would love to go here again and again and again…anytime I am in the vicinity…actually, only if it’s evening. currycular.wordpress.com

Okay! I think we found our place. We’ve been looking for a place with good drinks, good food, good music in the neighbourhood and this is it! Open till 2:30-3 am on Saturday too.Awesome flavours, super service, drinks are really good. Try the strawberry mojito (vodka has lesser calories than beer too :)) Happy day! Thanks to Riddhi Prasad!

Cocktails from hell. The most dreadful mojito’s I have ever had in my life – the sugar remained gritty and undisolved in the bottom of the glass, the mint bush left no room for much else and the crushed ice was substituted with enormous ice cubes! Disgusting – they should be ashamed and train their bar staff – will never go back there. .

Truly disgusting service. …. Truly disgusting service.20 of us went here for a friends birthday. As soon as we had paid, (including the 18% gratuity added to the bill) they asked us to vacate the table so they could create a dance floor. Now it’s one thing to demand that your customers give up thier table but the way the staff acted was atrocious. They were literally taking the seats out from under us. They even went so far as to manhandle our bags and purses to make us move quicker. The staff were rude and unforgiving, and after complaining to the manager he responded ‘ive been doing this before you were born, dont lecture me’. After paying a bill for well over 350 pounds we did not expect to be treated so badly, and were astonished at how rude the staff were. The food was ok if slightly overpriced, whilst the cocktails were actually pretty good, but I would never recommend anyone eating here unless you enjoy being served by sneering staff who enjoy berating thier customers.
