I really enjoy this place. Every 2nd Sunday they offer a nut roast with all the trimmings and it is delicious. I wish they would offer it every weekend!

This lovely gastro pub near the IWM is a nice place to eat at before a visit to the museum. The vibe is quite relaxed and the interiors reminded me of a winter retreat on the coast, with memories of summer, laughters and sunshine, all well represented in the great outside area as well. The staff is welcoming and able to get you smiling even if in a grumpy mood, the drinks are good and most of the food is delicious, in a table of four, with Oly Green among other friends, the perks have been the roasted duck leg, the chicken skewers and the baked camembert, while the lamb kofta has been declared decent and the cooked vegetables have been left in the plate, greasy and undercooked, that doesn’t apply to the chips, that’s for sure, fluffy inside and perfectly crispy outside. The portions are fulfilling and worth the prices. All in all is a nice place to go to if in the area but not somewhere to travel to from other parts of London only to eat here.

This quaint British pub has 1 of the best outdoor area that you can find in Kennington. Good quality bar, with an ample selection of ale’s, cidres and usual suspects. Had a G&T with Fever Tree tonic and that always makes me happier than the usual tonic dribble available at most pubs. Good for a drink on a sunny afternoon!

This place is (was) amazing! Proper gastro pub with dishes that really push pub grub to a whole new level. It has been a while since I’ve been there as I see the menu has changed. They do special everyday which are always worth a try. They had this crab cake which I proclaim to be the best crab cake I’ve ever had with this amazing garlic and mustard aioli and pickled beetroot. Every meal I’ve had in The Ship was one to talk about, from their Rib Eye steak with green peppercorn sauce to their duck breast with roasted veg to this Parmesan and breadcrumb encrusted chicken breast, pan fried and served with pasta!! Incredible!! Please please please try this place if you are nearby!!
