Many years ago this place had terrible food. One Dutch tourist describing it to the unwise owner who asked him how his meal was as serving the worst burger he had ever tasted.They have either changed hands or have had a foodie road toDamascus. I think it’s the former.I and my wife popped in for Sunday lunch and despite them being busy with many reserved tables managed to fit us in.We both had the roast beef sunday lunch and very good it was too. I’m not a huge roast beef fan but the bait of Yorkshire pud andhorseradish sauce did the trick. The veggies were of a particularly good quality and plenty of them. The Yorkshire pudding as it should be and the Horseradish nice and creamy and with a pleasant kick. I had banoffee pie, and my wifechocolatebrownies to follow. They were described as home made and they tasted it, in a good way.They lose a point on not having the veggie roast option as advertised on their web page and being a miser it was perhaps a little bit more than I would normally pay. That said the quality was very good and I have paid more for less elsewhere. We will be back!
