Had a great time. I have eaten at the Hest Bank 3 times in a month. We have really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. It is a real pub doing tasty food. My husband had the Venison Pudding and I had a light bite last night. The staff are young and always seem friendly and the polite. The menu is large and I really like the Thai Curry. They have re done the toilets as they used to be very poor. We will be going back again.
Disappointed to say the least!. Has to be one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The waitress presented our cutlery in a dirty metal container. No menu’s on the dirty table. We paid almost 22 for scampi and chips, a ploughman’s type platter and a portion of chips. Nothing home made and in my opinion, tasted like the cheapest brands that money can buy. When my partner went to fill in a satisfaction form she was asked her opinion about the food from the landlord. He was visibly angry by her honesty. Sorry Hest Bank Inn, if you are going to charge restaurant prices for pub food it needs to be of the highest standards.
A little gem!. Historic canalside pub full of character. Beer garden leading down to the canal which is very popular in the summer. Although the food is a little bit more expensive than the average pub in this area it is worth every penny! I have never been disappointed when I’ve eaten here and my personal favourite is the chicken, it is succulent and juicy and comes with lovely crispy onion rings, chips and a creamy but light sauce. As a boater it is my favourite pub food along the length of the Lancaster Canal and would recommend it to anyone. Great beer too!
