Family friendly only when it suits them.. This place used to be a haven for those of us with families, but recent experiences have shown we are now seen as second-class customers. Was basically told today that they didn’t want people like us (two adults, two toddlers) to come at busy times (like lunchtime), but only when it was empty. Someone had complained about noise with some kids. We weren’t turned away, exactly, but we were made to feel uncomfortable enough that we decided to take our custom elsewhere. (The food at the Village Deli is very good I discovered… that’s where we ended up).I hope we get some more competition in the village soon. Too many of the restaurants here are taking their captive market for granted.
Drop in Standards. This used to be a great little eatery in Walthamstow Village, but something has gone wrong. Maybe its complacentry or a change in chef, but the food is nowhere near as good as it was a year ago. The service is indifferent where once it was spot-on, my dinner was luke warm and the vegetables over-cooked. The waiter was distracted all evening and never checked that everything was OK. Maybe they have expanded too much, as when it was small with the deli next door the food was excellent
Live around here so go often ( not many places to eat in area!). Always nice food and staff. Nice new re-vamp Slightly overpriced. Very very child friendly.
Great improvement. Most of my family and I had the homemade beef burger with mature cheddar, onion jam and fries which was excellent and good value at 8.50. My father in law said it was probably the best burger he’d ever had! My 5 year old daughter had the kids meal which was bread crumbed chicken strips, fries and salad which was tender and not at all dry. It comes with fruit juice and ice cream for afters and is an absolute bargain at 5.00. The service was also very good. Cheerful and friendly. The interior is much Improved it could easily the decor of a Soho boutique hotel. A great asset to the area. I’m looking forward to trying the dinner menu.
Was awesome when first…. Just gave it another chance… but the waffles have been removed completely from the menu! It’s gone from a waffle house, to an ordinary restaurant. Not keen on the new decor, and what’s with the porta-loos?? I really hope these are a temporary fixture!Food is still decent enough, but it’s no longer the special place to go that it once was.
Great atmnosphere, friendly staff. Fresh food made to a good standard and well presented. Nice selection to suit all tastes. Would say a little overpriced though for what it is. Expect to pay 25-30 for a 3 course meal with a drink or two per person.
It’s now a regular restaurant not a waffle house, food is good but overpriced, it has a deli att which is also expensive but well stocked including home made cakes
