It’s not a Michelin-starred restaurant, but it’s my new favorite local Portuguese cafe. It’s where I run to on the weekends when I’m feeling lazy and in need of a sandwich. Bread is freshly baked on their premises and the ham salad on ciabatta is a dreamBut their cakes – oh, their cakes are delicious. I bought some mini pastries for an afternoon tea party and the nice lady behind the counter advised me to buy half a kilo instead of the six I’d originally wanted to purchase as it would be cheaper. Glad I listened to her, as I managed to overdo the custard creme filled donuts and Portuguese custard tarts. A decent little stand-by. angloyankophile.com
Nice coffee, nice cakes and nice people. The place is constantly bustling with conversation and the staff are friendly and engaging, the food is full of flavour and really rather tasty. Also, it can get really busy, but i’ve noticed that even then staff make sure they acknowledge and smile to anyone who walks in.All in all, a nice little cafe to go for a nice coffee and the famous Portuguese custard tart 🙂
