Nice food and service. We arrived at a busy restaurant as a party of 7 having not booked, but we were found a table within minutes with no fuss. The food was – as always – excellent and the range of dishes and the variety of flavours were fantastic. Friendly, helpful service and we will certainly be back again soon!
Excellent Food. Once again we have had the most amazing meal at the Eastern Eye. We have been to this restaurant many times and feel it deserves it’s 5 star review. We visited a couple of weeks ago and it was so good we recommended it to our friends who also ate with us there this week. I can totally recommend the Mumbai Selection where you get a selection platter of starters which are fantastic and then a selection of curries with rice and naan breads all at a set price, which is excellent value for money. Go hungry if you try the Mumbai selection as there is so much food, they offer any leftovers to take home if you want it! Abdul is really friendly and even went to the trouble of serving our food for us and then taking photos of us to post on this site, he really goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome and will cook up something really special for you05 Oct, 2013Alfa. Superb first visit with the family. We will definitely return after the standard of food has restored my faith in Asian cuisine. Owner asked if he could make me something special as you can imagine never visiting this restaurant before I was a little apprehensive. I had originally asked for a chicken tikka balti……the curry he made me was out of this world. A full chicken breast in a boat shaped humungous dish arrived beautifully decorated, smothered in a rich tantalizing sauce. If Abdul asks you if he can make you something special, he really means it!24 Sep, 2013Anniversary meals. Anniversary Meal5 of 5 starsReviewed 19 September 2013 NEWOnly one other has ‘matched’ this Indian meal. I phoned to book at the Eastern Eye and mentioned it was our anniversary. I asked for a simple rose and a bottle of white to be ready. To my surprise we were shown to a lovely table on arrival with a beautiful single white rose garnished with a bow and a bottle on ice, prompt and accurate service. The restaurant owner came over especially to see us and we chatted for ages about the restaurants history and his experience. The owner Abdul then took note of what we both liked and promised a special meal, he was not wrong. The fish to start was amazing, full if beautiful flavor and cooked to perfection. My lamb was sumptuous, tender and spiced to a tee. My wife’s chicken was the same. a superb ‘Indian sweet’ desert was then produced whilst being made to feel ‘looked after’ throughout. I had heard of this restaurants reputation beforehand but the standard of the meal, personal service, bespoke cuisine and conversation was really just that little bit different. Many thanks Abdul and team, we will return ASAP.
We were looked after king Abdul Salam himself. He made our first experience at Eastern Eye a true experience of Indian /Bangladeshi cuisine. Food was excellent, high level of service place is impeccable. Highly recommend it. Btw, wear stretchy pants 🙂

AVOID IF YOU HAVE ANY SENSE!. First impressions give you a feeling of quality and what you would expect of a restaurant with class.HOW WRONG!! The food and the service are terrible!! I feel violated for receiving a 45 bill for two meals and two drinks. We waited nearly an hour to get our main course, but since we were that starving we were prepared to wait. When the meal arrived we wish we hadn’t bothered and just finshed at the starter – even that wasn’t very nice. The garnish was limp, like it had come off another plate before and the portions didn’t reflect the price charged in my opinion.Going to Eastern Eye has put me off curry for a while. There’s got to be a better curry house in Lichfield!! Avoid if I were you!
W.t.f. Once the best curry in town but now just a very very pale imitation of a once legendary restaurant. I have absolutely no idea how the owner managed to f*ck this one up!
