Fabulous 60th. We we lucky enough to book Erics 60th and our wedding celebrations at the Old Glen House on the 30th June. Thank you to Claire and Steve for making our night very special. The buffet was exceptional, freshly cooked meat, spicy chicken and very reasonably priced. We had a lovely evening a small but perfectly formed venue for about 30 of us. I have since been for a meal for two and the standard was again extremely high.

Terrible food – even worse service. We visited this restaurant a few years ago (i.e. pre-2008 when it was award winning) and the food used to be very good. However, visiting recently we were really disappointed. The starters were average, however the main courses (Sunday roasts) were all burnt, one of them was actually burnt black and had to be returned to the kitchen. The waitress who took the food back returned to convey a message from the chef to ask what we wanted to do about it (the connotation appeared to be that we might want to leave if we were going to complain about his food). This hostile response made us feel uncomfortable and we requested a non-burnt plate of food. When she returned with the replacement meal, it was just as burnt as the first at which point we gave up complaining and the replacement was left untouched. When we paid the bill (minus payment for the badly burnt meal) the front of house waiter asked if everything was ok. When we explained that the food was burnt and tried to give some feedback he became very rude and confrontational. The restaurant was half empty which leaves no explanation as to why the food and service were so bad. The responses to our mild complaints (including the waiter smirking when we attempted to provide feedback) unfortunately suggested that this is a regular occurrence and as a result we cannot recommend this pub to anyone.

Very poor. DON’T COMPLAIN ABOUT THE FOOD UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE MET BY THE POLICE WHEN YOU RETURN HOME. I and five friends visited the Old Glen House one Saturday evening in February. Our first impression upon arrival was that the restaurant was completely empty especially as prior to booking here I’d phoned three other local pubs that were all fully booked! In fact all evening only one other table was occupied so as you can imagine the atmosphere was severely lacking. In our opinion the two prawn starters were frozen and two pork tenderloin main courses were unevenly cooked and in parts bloody. The chef refused to serve us deserts because we’d had the audacity to complain about his food and the front of house staff didn’t want to know. When we asked to speak to him he avoided us and eventually we approached him while he was stood behind the bar. His customer service skills were lacking to say the least. He was rude and insulting and wasn’t interested in what we had to say. We deducted the two prawn and two pork dishes from the bill and paid the remainder before being asked to leave and told not to come back. UPON ARRIVING HOME WE WERE MET BY TWO POLICE OFFICERS who said they’d had a report from the pub that my wife had been drinking heavily in the restaurant and left the car park erratically. Obviously this was totally unfounded, vindictive and extremely immature and when we explained what had happened the police were even less impressed that the pub had deliberately wasted police time than we were with the poor food and extremely poor service. Certainly wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

THE OLD GLEN HOUSE – PROD LANE BAILDON. I would just like to spread a little word about The Old Glen House in Baildon. It is a lovely olde worlde pub and attached restaurant where fine food and wine is served. A most delicious Sunday lunch is served and the Yorkshire Puddings are a REAL WINNER!! Every time I have visited this Restaurant the food has been delicious – it is absolutely faultless…. 10/10 and there aren’t may places worthy of that score !!
