Guess we won’t get to find out what it’s really like. Tried to make a table booking, and it was cancelled after a couple of days. No reason given, but I’m going to suspect they didn’t think we’d spend enough to justify a booking.

Friendly bar with great food!. I drink in Canal bar regularly after work and have made lots of friends doing so. Lately we’ve been having their Sangria which is wicked! I’ve eaten there a couple of times and then I had a Sunday roast there! OMG it was amazing!! Loads of food all topped off with a huge Yorkshire pudding and the best gravy I’ve ever tasted! There’s an outside area overlooking the canal which is great when the weather is nice but you have to get in early when it is to get a seat. Upstairs is good to but there are often private parties. I really enjoy going there and can’t recommend Sunday roast enough!!

Oh dear!. Ive been there a couple of times – the owners are incredibly rude – however, the staff are smiley and friendly. There are mice upstairs happily scurrying around – on two different occasions Ive seen it (or them!)Food is good, though…

Put the food in the Canal. I haven’t had such an atrocious meal in ages. One of our party had to send the burger back – inedible with stale bun. Two of us went for the fish pie, my friend described the cheese sauce as rancid. What topped it off the our table was regularly interrupted by a man looming over us to impart what he no doubt believed was wisdom-which the staff did nothing to stop. The cheek is there’s a sticker saying award winning food in the window, but I note top table no longer represent this place. Looks like this place should stick with pre-clubbing drinks and leave food well alone – horrid.
