Met with friends in Windsor and went here for dinner. This restaurant is nicely located; it is just behind Windsor Castle and only a few minutes walk to the riverside. Inside, it carried a modern Asian theme which I liked for being both stunning and functional. The crew was equally inviting as the place itself. They were jovial and attentive, with overall service fast and efficient. We had a round of wine and some prawn crackers while considering what to order. I then went for salt and pepper squid for starters and duck with tamarind sauce with steamed rice for main course. We also decided to get pad thai for sharing. The squid was good. The squid meat was soft with the salt and pepper taste coming out strong. The tamarind duck was ok. The duck was tender but not melt-in-your-mouth type and the sauce too sweet for my preference. It was decent but it did not have that wow factor. I’ve had a similar dish in another Thai restaurant in Ealing which is better than this one. The pad thai was fine. The noodle was well cooked and all the right flavours were there but like the duck I was underwhelmed by the dish. This is my favourite Thai dish and I’ve had amazing ones in Bangkok and other in other countries. The Thai Square version just fell short in my view. The dishes I tried did not have the wow factor but I see sown potential in this restaurant. I will likely visit their other branches and try their other dishes.

As we entered we was overwhelmed by the smell of fish. It was a Friday evening and the restaurant was very busy but the waiters were on the ball. The Chicken Satay was grand!! (and this is when we should have left) Mains of BBQ pork & sticky rice, veg noodles, duck salad and thai curry were average. The rice was like a big rock and the curry lacked any consistency! Pork was chewy and dry. We skipped desserts..
