We were thinking of ordering in but instead of the usual takeaway decided to try a new place. I had wondered about this place passing by so finally decided to go there today. We were attended to immediately as soon as we went in. We ordered some drinks which came immediately and ordered the Halloumi cheese and loukanico sausage with tomato basil dressing as a starter to share. The sausage was excellent and went really well with the cheese. The mains – kleftico, a slow roasted lamb dish and pork medallions (a special) – although not bad, were a bit disappointing. The portion size was very good though and we had no room for dessert! The staff is really friendly and the service was really good. The ambience is quite nice too. Probably be back someday but isn’t in my list of favourites. instagram.com
I desperately want to like this restaurant. The staff and owners clearly care about their patrons and are extremely pleasant and polite always making the actual dining experience relaxed and enjoyable. However what comes out on the plate is sadly not up to the same standard of hospitality. The menu offers a wide spectrum of cuisines including Italian and Greek with all dishes feeling home cooked but not in a good way. The bigger is better approach rarely works and here the plates come piled with chips or equivalent accompaniment. The selection of drinks is good and the price is fair. The restaurant would be perfect for a big group of people who care more about having a nice time than gourmet food as the staff and atmosphere are spot on edging my review score from a 2.0 to a 3.0. Tip: avoid the mezze sharing platter unless you like the idea of a school of fried whitebait placed in front of you and not taken away until you’ve finished every mouthful.
Went here for the first time for father’s day. Pleasantly surprised. Nice and airy, food excellent, great service and all for a reasonable price. Will definitely be revisiting.
Love this place, great food, great staff, simple but smart decor.
A fantastic find – an authentic bit of the Med on the doorstep!. What a remarkable place, and totally unexpected! Great tasting food, meticulously presented and all at reasonable prices. The atmosphere can be a little lacking during the day, but evenings are when this place comes alive. The dcor is tasteful and unfussy.Staff are attentive without being overbearing, with plenty of genuine recommendations and a superb selection of specials.Cannot recommend this place enough, give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.
